Game Updates & Patch Notes

Patch Notes from 12/02/2020:

                        

Game:

  • Monsters now persist their aggro list. Attacking a mob adds you to their aggro list.
  • You remain on the aggro list until the monster dies, or other players attack the monster instead (pushing you out of the end of the list).
  • Increased difficulty to hide in front of a monster with the player in their aggro list.
  • The difficulty to hide in front of mobs you have NOT attacked remains the same.
  • Updated the max tap and tap damage formulas.
  • Fixed lifetap causing KO if caster stunned. You will now KO if you do not have enough fat to cast the spell.
    • Ex: Lifetapping a level 40 spell, with only 30 fat at time of casting, will result in a KO.

Paladin:

  • Consecrate Weapon is now stored in a different slot on the weapon. Can use drain, posion, bleed effects on weapons along with the consecrated buff (IE - Poison weapon will strike with Poison AND cons dmg)
  • Consecrate timer changed from level30sec, to level60seconds.

Client:

  • Feature: added help menu item with an option to open the logs folder in various os file managers (e.g. explorer, finder, thunar, etc.)
  • Feature: general mac improvements
  • Fixed: conn lost not displaying if conn lost at account selection frame
  • Fixed: login window should be brought to front on open for all os's
  • Fixed: (mac) whitespace caret issue*
  • Fixed: (mac) char stats not appearing on login
  • Fixed: (mac) char creation menu not displaying
  • Potential Fix: timer improvements; timer now based off system time instead of raw ms values
  • this issue was caused by a bug in the default font we use (Fixedsys Excelsior 3.01); the new default font is Determination Mono Web; the old font was left in place for people wishing to use it on non-mac machines; mac users must change their font manually via Font Settings to get the fix ; Fixedsys Excelsior will work on mac if you change your font size to a value other than 17

BH Demons:

  • Increased starting vitals from 35hp/35fat to 40hp/40fat.
  • Increased max vitals from 450hp/450fat to 500hp/500fat.
  • Increased enc formula (A demon with 15str should have 30 more max enc.)
  • Added a base stun chance to Burning Hand Demons.
  • Changed Demon point spread from 1 off 1 def 2 mag 2 gen to 3off 2 def 1 mag 2 gen.

General change: (Variance changes effect PvE and PvP)

  • Spell damage variance change from +/- 15% to 5%. This should help eliminate some of the huge variance in spell damage, especially tapped damage.
  • Weapon & Skill damage variance change from +/- 15% to 10%. Should help eliminate some of the spike damage that can help with alot of % bonus damage comes into play.
  • Changed stunned bonus damage from 20% to 10%. Should help eliminate some more of the spike damage.
  • Reworked the wording when leveling up/ranking in guild to mimic DFC more closely.
  • Can no longer follow whilst unconscious.
  • Sitting now breaks guard.
  • Fixed issue with cure bleed/poi/dis costs bouncing around.
  • Fixed Farsee 2 (SYNTAX: LOOK N N)
  • Fixed(?) issues regarding messaging when sneaking portals while hidden.
  • Fixed alarms not firing when enemy arrives via a portal.
  • Fixed Guild Titles being awarded to one player for each gender.
  • Fixed the outdated Statistics descriptions that was being shown to newly created players.

TAP:

  • Overhauled damage bonus from tap. It should start out alot better in the early levels, be about the same in the middle levels, and slightly reduced scaling at high levels.
  • Adjusted maximum TAP value. Uses a combination of intel + wisdom + character level + tap skill%

Launcher:

  • Feature: JRE updates based on version, corruption, or missing
  • Feature: added a final check on play click to fix corrupted jre and client if corruption detected
  • Fix: issue where the UI allows the play button to be clicked prior to being ready: causes corrupted JRE that prevents the client from running
  • Potential Fix: changed folders we write to to be user data folders on the respective os's; I believe this will fix mac issues

Game:

  • Fixed issue with spells resulting in "You may not attack X." giving timer and clearing tap.
  • Attempted to fix issue with ghosted spell attacks charging power.
  • Show message when holding a consecrated weapon.
  • Updated portals, hopefully this fixes the issue with rooms bugging out with 2 portals.
  • Added option for portals to be set to NO VOLLEY.
  • Guild shops for trading guild gear for a separate weapon/armor type. (alternatives still need to be created)
  • Storms/rifts now poof when the caster leaves the room.
  • Fixed 'Huh?' when a player WITHOUT SNEAK skill tries to sneak. Added tiny chance for it to be successful.
  • Fixed not being able to look at your equipment IF another item was in inventory/on ground.
  • Added 'LOOK ITEMNAME ME' to specify you want to look at something in your inventory.

Client:

  • Feature: Compass is now clickable
  • Feature: cls command now works for chat window
  • Fix: issue where account screen chars are out of date
  • Fix: chat scroll/main window scroll
  • Fix: font setting for chat
  • Fix: an issue with read timeouts to the server
  • Potential Fix: key Bindings on mac
  • Potential Fix: made some change to the timer that seem to have fixed most issues
  • Potential Fix: client lockup
  • Potential Fix: mac cursor weirdness in input field
  • Note: For anyone having the clunky font issue, please try deleting the "jre" folder, which is in the "lib" folder in olmranlauncher root directory. The launcher should pull down a newer JRE that fixes the issue.

  • Fixed and reworked resurrection chance with spells.

    • Fixed issue with any failed rezz being a release.
    • Should be a lot more successful rezzes, with much fewer releases.
    • REMEMBER TO KEEP YOUR FAT UP!
  • Changed remaining MANA references to POWER.

  • Fixed issue with mobs that regen health give more experience than they should.

  • Added random materials to drops (similar to how random enchant drops work)

  • Better materials on gear = better durability in combat.

  • Added material types for cloth and leather armor, and wooden weapons/shields:

    • CLOTH: Wool < Cotton < Silk < Gossamer < Wispweave < Ebonweave
    • LEATHER: Leather < Rough < Embossed < Suede < Wyvern Scale < Enchanted
    • WOOD: Maple < Oak < Yew < Rosewood < Ironwood < Ebony
  • Shield Bash damage now based on shields DEFENSE, no longer the weight (for better damage scaling)

  • Shield Bash weapon given scaling lightning sigil based on skill %, to account for damage lost from no sigil on shield.

CLIENT UPDATES:

  • Added option to place chat at North, West, or East edges of window.
  • Reverted Class Portraits to DFC's.
  • Optimizations and improvements.

  • Idol penalties for new players should be fixed.
  • Fixed issue with Shield Bash costing double fatigue.
  • Increased consecrate's proc rate to 75%, to compensate for only having on one weapon.
  • Increased realm point rewards for PKs.
  • Overhauled SPELLS command:
    • SPELLS or SPELLS LIST will show you your spell "lists" - list names to come
    • SPELLS <LISTNAME> will show you all of your spells within that list.
    • SPELLS ALL will show you all spells, as it does now.
    • NOTE!: Until certain spells are adjusted, some are assigned to "Nothing" and cannot be viewed outside of SPELLS ALL. This will be fixed in a future patch.
  • Fixed issue with pets not poofing players
  • Added message to player stating how long until can be poofed again, and 30s timer when poofed.

New Skill: Shield Bash Class - Paladin, Level - 7

  • Operates on secondary timer (similar to breath)
  • Does hp/fat damage (similar to pummel)
  • Weight of shield factors into damage for Shield Bash.
  • Paladin level 5 guild item changed from jewel to shield - can be bought at guild trainer
  • CONSECRATE: Tightened range and increased average damage - Moved to level 10
  • Monk damage formula changed to scale more quickly at low levels
  • Turned off damage scaling in PVP based on level difference
  • DELVE now shows items weight, can delve effects on food items
  • AFFECT command now shows the names of your effects and duration
  • Can no longer hold coins
